A Perfect Day in Chianti

Even though the weather was cool and rainy, our day with Alessandra was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Alessandra is an absolute delight…and her energy, enthusiasm, humour, knowledge, warmth, and passion for the region and all it has to offer is totally infectious. We toured two wonderful Chianti Classico wineries — Casa Emma and Querceto di Castellina — sampled olive oil and pecorino along with our wine tastings, and ended with an incredibly fresh and delicious gourmet lunch prepared in lovely Laura’s kitchen. After that, it was a tour of San Gimignano before heading back to Firenze just in time for sunset over the hills. The whole time, we felt like we were in the company of a good friend.
